Who I am

I love teaching and I want to share ideas with other educators. This portfolio is my attempt to break down the walls that sometimes separate people with ideas that ought to be shared.

If you see an idea in these pages that you like, take it! If you have any questions about some of the stuff I do, then just ask. But here's the deal: If you have cool ideas, or feedback about how to improve what I do, then don't keep them to yourself.

How I Learned To Stop Worrying
and Love “Grade Inflation”

I taught at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx from 2010-2017. I created and advised TEDxRiverdaleCountrySchool -- an independently organized TED event. I've watched dynamic students, faculty and administrators push themselves to conceive, develop, and refine original talks on topics of their choosing. In 2016 the students asked me to put my money where my mouth is, and give a talk. This is not an official TED talk because it turns out that event organizers can't give talks at their own events, or something like that. In any case, here's the result.

A Fun Speech I Once Gave

In 2012, the graduating seniors at Riverdale Country School asked me to speak at graduation. I had a great time.
